A self proclaimed yearbook nerd since her sophomore year in high school, Polk has been honored with JEA's Medal of Merit, NSPA's Pioneer Award and has been recognized as a Distinguished Adviser and Special Recognition Adviser in the JEA Yearbook Adviser of the Year contest. She has been awarded the Max R. Haddick Journalism Teacher of the Year in Texas and was named as one of 75 Texas Legends in scholastic journalism during the 75th Anniversary of the Texas high school press association. Wayna was recently award the Gold Key from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
Her yearbook, the Flashlight, won every state and national award over the years and was one of the top Texas yearbooks for the last 25 years. Judging yearbooks for various state and national press associations over the years, she is a frequent speaker at state, regional and national journalism conventions. Wayna loves teaching summer yearbook workshops and meeting students and their advisers from all over the country!
Besides Wayna, we'll have Jostens Tech experts to show you everything new in all that is yearbook technology! Your staff members will have hands-on lab time where you can work on your own 2012 yearbook!
