Five multi-media presentations that cover basic yearbook instruction

This page is all about helping you teach the basics of yearbook. We have developed four QuickTime presentations that will help you teach basic classes in Design (for either YTO or YearTech using InDesign, Copy writing, Yearbook Photography and Caption Writing.All presentations are in QuickTime which is free and plays on any computer. If you don't have QuickTime installed, you can download it for free by clicking here. When the files download, they will be zipped. Save them to your desktop and then open the zipped file.

There are also two PowerPoint presentations. One is a slide show with tons of cover ideas and the other scads of design ideas. Enjoy!

Teaching Photography for yearbookers

Your students will learn the 10 best ways to improve their yearbook pictures in this 30 minute presentation. When you use it, take time to discuss the importance of each of the 10 distinct methods and how they would go about using them. An even better method would be to review one each day and then have student photographers shoot that tip on that day. Spend the next day reviewing their photos. Teaching Caption Writing for Yearbooks

We think captions are the most important writing in yearbooks because most kids don't read all the copy in a yearbook, but they usually read the caption on the photo they or their friends are pictured in.
